ABOUT THE SEMINAR
SUMMARY
Excellence in lingual orthodontics is rarely achieved spontaneously. Great refinement starts at the beginning and continues throughout the entire treatment. The presentation will focus on the path to simplification of technique and procedures, ordered in a clear and concise manner. Using customized passive self ligating lingual appliances, it will be shown how planned movement control, such as customized torque and the lingual straight mechanics, can significantly reduce treatment time, simplify mechanics and improve the quality of results. In addition, digital planning, offering total workflow support, will enable highly predictable results to be verified and achieved in both simple, complex treatments and hybrid approach cases. The latter, combining clear aligners with fixed lingual appliances, now represent an effective and efficient treatment alternative.
AIMS
To introduce LSW (lingual straight wire) concepts, mechanical advantages of square slot combined with LSW system and with aligners.
OBJECTIVES
To explain the digitally customized planning aspects of this system and describe the different types of mechanics which can be used combined.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Delegates will learn about the diversity of this lingual/hybrid system and to be able to discuss how this could be introduced to their own clinical practice.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dr. Giuseppe Scuzzo, graduated in medicine in 1983 (Rome University), specialized in dentistry (Rome University) and orthodontics at Ferrara University. He has always worked exclusively in orthodontics, with a special interest in lingual orthodontics since 1983 .
He is adjunct professor in the lingual technique at University Vita-Salute San Raffaele (Milan), Professor at Complutense University (Madrid), University of Salamanca (Spain)and Catholic University in Rome. He was also director of the First International Master in Lingual orthodontics at Ferrara University and Co-Director of the PG Program in Lingual Orthodontics at the Complutense University of Madrid and at MASLO (Master Advanced Study Lingual Ortho) Basel University Swiss.
Dr. Scuzzo has spoken and published extensively in Italy and abroad on lingual orthodontics publishing 80 articles and 3 books translated in 6 languages.
He developed and patented several lingual orthodontic appliances (LSW,STb and Alias )
Dr. Scuzzo has a private practice limited to lingual orthodontics in Rome, Italy.
